Course Structure and Requirements
Unlike a standard clinical doctorate, the D.Sc. (A.M.) is primarily structured on a research and thesis submission basis.
- Core Requirement: Candidates are required to research, write, and submit an original, authentic doctoral thesis.
- Thesis Length: The research work must typically span at least 300 pages.
- Guidance: The thesis must be prepared under the direction of an approved, competent guide or recognized institution.
- Format: It generally requires the submission of printed copies along with a digital copy (CD/USB).
Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Path: The candidate must hold a Master’s degree or an M.D. (A.M.) from an authentic, recognized institution.
- Professional Path: Active practitioners or research workers who have been practicing for at least 10 years are often exempted from minimum basic educational qualifications.
Areas of Research and Elective Modalities
While the core subject revolves around the History, Philosophy, and Principles of Alternative Medicines, candidates can choose to focus their comprehensive thesis on one or more specialized holistic disciplines:
- Natural Healing Systems: Naturopathy, Yoga Therapy, Diet and Nutrition, and Herbal Medicine.
- Manual & Energy Therapies: Acupressure, Acupuncture, Chiropractic Therapy, Reflexology, Osteopathy, Reiki, and Magnet Therapy.
- Vibrational & Esoteric Medicine: Bach Flower Remedies, Aromatherapy, Chromo (Colour) Therapy, Crystal Healing, Sound Therapy, and Electro-Homeopathy.
